My particular concern is that using torture and force for military purposes is not “justifiable and appropriate” and that torturing and controlling veterans for anything other than voluntary service in wartime is improper to constitute a “just compensation” for their time and effort.
Just as I believe torture and the U.S. government as an institution is not only wrong (the torture practice is highly stigmatized), abuse of military personnel, and practice of forced military service by military personnel has not to be perceived as a “just compensation” for their time and labor (which, as you point out, I reject).
